International Camp Directors Course (ICDC)

We are thrilled and excited to be able to offer the International Camp Directors Course.  This five-day event will be held in a camp close to Quebec City.  The course will enhance any camp director from any country around the world.  The instructors of this course are renowned camp professionals.  Who have spent countless hours working on and perfecting the course material that will be presented.  This course was a great success when it was presented in Mexico in 2005 with over 40 participants.  This course is limited to a registration of 45 participants.

Dates : September 29th to October 3rd 2008
Arrival & Departure times : Arrival Sept. 29th in late afternoon in Montreal.
Departure for Quebec City after lunch on Oct. 3rd.
Location :  Camp in close proximity of Quebec City
Transportation : Participants to arrive in Montreal, bus will take participants to camp location

Course content :      

The course will run over a five-day period.  The participants will receive a printed binder of all course instruction.  The printed material will be translated into both French and English. The following are the list of subjects that will be covered in the course.

Instructors : Armand Ball, Dick Chamberlain and Connie Coutellier.
All three developed the International Camp Directors' Course in 2005 for the 7th International Camping Congress.

Armand Ball - An independent camp consultant with Alpha Beta Consultants. Served as CEO of the American Camping Association for 13 years and directed YMCA camps for many years. Mr. Ball was one of the founding members and past president of the International Camping Fellowship and recipient of ICF's Druzhba Award. He is also the Author of Basic Camp management, which is published now in four languages.

Dick Chamberlain - An independent camp consultant with Richard Chamberlain and Associates. He was a former Executive of the United Church of Christ Outdoor Ministries. Mr. Chamberlain was one of the founding members and past president of the International Camping Fellowship. He has consulted and taught camp management courses all over the world.

Connie Coutellier - Affiliated with Camp Fire USA since 1963, presently as a National Field Executive. Served as National ACA President, national Standards Chair, and as a professional ACA staff member. She has written several books and has developed the curriculum for the ACA Basic Camp Director Course, New Director Orientation, and several other national programs. Ms. Coutellier was the recipient of the 2007 ACA Distinguished Service Award.
